Yarra Yering

Yarra Yering Wine

Yarra Yering is a premium winery located in the Yarra Valley wine region of Victoria, Australia. The winery was founded in 1969 by Dr. Bailey Carrodus, a pioneering winemaker who was instrumental in establishing the reputation of the Yarra Valley as a premium wine region. The winery continues to achieve its reputation as a premium wine producer and was awarded the 2022 Halliday Wine Companion Awards Winery of the Year.

Yarra Yering is known for its Bordeaux-style blends, which are made using traditional winemaking techniques and ageing methods. The winery also produces single varietal wines, including Shiraz, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. All their wines are made in a traditional, light and elegant European style with lower alcohol and restrained fruit, which is not a common style for Australia.

Yarra Yering Wine & Food Pairing Ideas

  • Dry Red Wine No. 1 pairs beautifully with robust dishes like slow-cooked lamb shanks or a classic beef Wellington. The wine’s depth of flavour and velvety tannins enhance these savoury dishes.
  • Dry Red Wine No. 2, with its Shiraz-dominant blend, is perfect for pairing with smoky or spiced dishes, such as BBQ ribs or Moroccan-spiced lamb. Its hints of pepper balance beautifully with bold spices.
