Umani Ronchi was founded more than 60 years ago in Cupramontana, the centre of the Verdicchio Classico producing zone. Since then, the company has expanded to numerous other locations along the Adriatic coast. Its opening chapters were written by Gino Umani Ronchi when he revived a little farm in Le Marche. Then he was joined by Massimo Bernetti, a recent political science graduate with his sights set on a career in diplomacy, and Roberto Bianchi, a building contractor from Ancona with a profound love for agriculture.

Today Umani Ronchi’s products cover almost every continent, and it has solidified its position in several non-domestic markets like Japan, Sweden, Canada, the United States, and Germany. Its wines are known and loved around the world as a result of a substantial network of contacts accumulated over the years, active market analysis, and, most importantly, its ability to stick to the principles of consistent and trustworthy quality over time.

With this Montepulciano the producers wanted to highlight the key characteristics of the grape: the ability to produce incredibly delightful wines with a true personality. Its character comes from the fruit notes and the crisp finish, as well as the superb harmony between the tannins, structure, and acidity. However, it is the grapes’ exceptional capacity to consistently display the highest quality and recognisability even in the most challenging vintaging condition what gives authenticity to the final product. This red displays intense aromas of red fruit and strawberries, that continue on the palate, with medium body and lingering finish.

Food pairing suggestion:  Slow roast leg of lamb.
