In 2011, Duncan Savage launched his own label with a clear mission: to create wines that are steadfast, timeless, and refined. Duncan meticulously selects grapes for Savage wines from coastal and elevated sites across the Western Cape in South Africa. These small, carefully chosen parcels undergo meticulous care and attention throughout the growing season. Each vineyard’s distinct terroir imparts its own unique character to the blends, contributing to the singular charm of each wine.
The Touriga Nacional and Syrah vines are cultivated as bush vines in Malgas, where they thrive in shale soils covered with river pebbles. To enhance complexity, 10% of whole bunch portions were incorporated into the winemaking process.

The wine is delightfully opulent and expressive, unveiling a palate that is richly fleshy and creamy, boasting a smooth texture. Sweet, plump velvety tannins complement the wine, leading to a finish imbued with saline, maritime nuances and the luscious essence of crème de cassis.
