Forty-nine years ago, Esporão was founded with the ambition of producing the finest wines in the Alentejo region. What started as the dream of two friends has evolved into a project with international and generational ambitions. The driving force behind this family business continues to be the foundation of all our endeavors, now expanded to new territories and products.
The co-fermentation process started in the wine presses, with foot treading at controlled temperatures (22 to 25°C), and concluded in concrete tanks. After undergoing malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged for 6 months in the same concrete tanks. The distinctive micro-oxygenation environment provided by these tanks is designed to maintain the wine’s character.
The wine presents notes of ripe red fruits accompanied by hints of blackberry jam, complemented by subtle herbaceous and spicy undertones. On the palate, it offers a fresh and balanced profile with a silky and inviting texture, showcasing ripe fruit flavours that linger elegantly on the persistent finish.
