Domaine Jones La Perle Rare Syrah is a 100% Syrah wine crafted by Katie Jones in the village of Tuchan, near Maury, in the South of France. With a focus on traditional farming methods and innovative winemaking techniques, Domaine Jones produces small-batch, boutique wines. Katie Jones has also expanded her vineyard holdings in Tuchan, acquiring parcels planted with low-yielding old vines, some dating back 100 years. These vineyards feature a mix of grape varieties, echoing early 20th-century planting practices.
La Perle Rare Syrah originates from the small Falandrin vineyard near Tuchan, situated on the border of Languedoc Roussillon. Planted in 2009, the vines here were propagated from vines sourced from the renowned Cote Rotie region. Full-bodied and vibrant, La Perle Rare Syrah bursts with flavours of ripe blackberry, raspberry, and hints of liquorice, complemented by subtle toasty notes. This exceptional wine originates from a single vineyard, Falandrin, nestled in the charming village of Tuchan.
Crafted with great care, only three barrels of this top-quality wine are produced. Each barrel undergoes a meticulous 12-month aging process in the finest French oak barrels, enhancing its depth and complexity.
The result is a truly special wine, balancing richness and freshness with a touch of oak. La Perle Rare Syrah embodies the essence of its terroir, showcasing the unique flavours of its vineyard and the skill of its winemaking.
