Zuccardi Argentinian Wine Tasting at Edgbaston

We welcome Eugenia Gonzalez from one of the most trailblazing Argentinian wine estates, Zuccardi. Zuccardi were one of Argentina’s most traditional and famous wine estates until Sebastian Zuccardi took over the business and decided he wanted a new vision for Argentinian wine based on sustainability and minimal oak usage. His work focusing on concrete is now being copied by most producers in the country, and this obsession with modernising the style of wine in Argentina has made him a household name in the country and globally one of the superstar winemakers.

During the tasting, we will try 6 of Argentina’s key grape varieties, with a big focus on the main variety, Malbec (where we will try three Malbecs). You will also be in for a treat as we try one of Zuccardi’s 100-point wines!

About Zuccardi

Zuccardi was founded by Alberto “Tito” Zuccardi in 1963 when the engineer planted the first vineyards to showcase his new irrigation system. In 1985, his son José Alberto assumed responsibility for leading the family business, where a similar innovation to his father brought Argentinian winemaking to the world. In 1999, Sebastián – José Alberto’s son and Tito’s grandson – embarked on a personal project with several friends to craft sparkling wines in the Uco Valley. Soon after he took over the winemaking from his father. Since then Zuccardi have become one of the most respected wineries in the world, Wine Enthusiast named Zuccardi Valle de Uco “New World Winery of the Year.” The World’s Best Vineyards selected us as the Best Vineyard in the World for three consecutive years (2019-2020-2021), and then in 2022, welcomed us into the Hall of Fame. They also have the most 100 point wines of any Argentinian vineyard.
