About Pol Roger
Pol Roger was founded in 1849 in the heart of Épernay, and it’s one of the few top Champagne houses still owned and run by the founding family. Known for its elegant, precise, and long-lived Champagnes, Pol Roger has built a reputation over 175 years for doing things properly—staying loyal to tradition while producing wines of consistently high quality.
One of the most famous fans of Pol Roger was Sir Winston Churchill, who became closely linked with the house. He once called it “the world’s most drinkable address” and developed a strong friendship with Odette Pol-Roger. To honour that connection, Pol Roger created the Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill, first released in 1984. It’s only made in exceptional vintages and crafted in the full-bodied, age-worthy style Churchill loved.
In 2024, Pol Roger celebrated its 175th anniversary—a huge milestone for a house that has never strayed far from its roots. They continue to produce wines with incredible balance, structure, and finesse, whether it’s their classic Brut Reserve or their rare prestige cuvée.

He spent time working at 67 Pall Mall in London—a well-known club for wine professionals and collectors—and has over a decade of experience in the wine trade. Thanks to his background, Martin combines personal connection with expert knowledge, and he’s full of stories, context, and little-known facts about the house, its cuvées, and the world of Champagne.
