Escape the midweek routine and unwind in the cosy, welcoming atmosphere of Loki Knowle for an evening of cheese, wine, and good company. This relaxed yet educational and fun event is designed for wine lovers of all levels — whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or just starting your journey.

We’ll be tasting a curated selection of wines from around the world, each thoughtfully paired with exceptional cheeses to highlight the magic of perfect pairings. From bold reds to crisp whites and even a surprise or two, every sip and bite will bring out new flavors and textures, revealing the art of pairing wine and cheese like a pro.

Our expert host will guide you through the tasting, sharing insights into wine styles, regions, and pairing principles, all in a laid-back and interactive setting. Expect plenty of laughs, great conversation, and a deeper appreciation for the delicious synergy between wine and cheese.

Whether you come solo, with a friend, or as part of a group, this is the perfect way to treat yourself midweek, discover new favourites, and enjoy an evening of indulgence.

Here are the pairings you can expect:

Champagne with Délice de Bourgogne: a great matching based on texture where the high acid of the Champagne cuts through the fatty/creamy texture of the cheese. 

French Sauvignon Blanc with Caerphilly: Caerphilly is quite light in flavour and is well suited to a crisp, refreshing, non-oaked white like a Sauvignon Blanc.

Godello with Cave Aged Gruyere: Godello can be a touch more rich and fruity and so can take on a cheese with more character such as the Gruyere.

Cabernet Sauvignon with Cashel Blue: this pairing is one that showcases a mild and creamy blue cheese (from Ireland) with the bold blackcurrant fruit notes of the Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine should display greater fruit intensity after the cheese is consumed.

Primitivo with Provolone Piccante: this combination is one of complete contrasts between the slight hint of sweetness in the Primitivo and the very piquant nature of the Provolone Piccante. 

Banyuls with Colston Bassett Stilton: Banyuls makes a great lighter alternative to Port, but does still partner perfectly with Stilton.

All transfers within 14 days of the event will incur a £10 fee per ticket. This is to cover the non-recoverable costs incurred by the event.
